I know I don't need to tell you about the happy jig I danced all through the house and the WOOT! WOOT! noises that I screamed whilst I danced my happy jig. Do I?
You know, in hearing this I was so extremely happy. I hope this spreads to other states . . . a tad bit north of California . . . to be specific. Nonetheless, this was exciting.
You probably already know this, but both Oregon and Washington have domestic partnership laws which offer the same protections but aren't true "marriage" like California and Massachusetts - requiring a ceremony and all that.
I would certainly say this precedent pushes them into consideration of an upgrade, wouldn't you? Especially after they notice the sky hasn't fallen. ;)
I know they've been working on solidifying domestic partnership rights here in Washington, but they weren't quite there. I could be mistaken though. I certainly hope this helps push them further in the right direction.
